Genetic analysis of porcine parvoviruses detected in South Korean wild boars

چکیده
Porcine parvovirus 1 (PPV1) is a major cause of reproductive failure in pigs. To date, six additional porcine parvoviruses (PPV2–PPV7) have been identified. In this study, we detected 11 PPV1 strains, five PPV3 three PPV4 PPV5 PPV6 and one PPV7 strain Korean wild boars. PPV1, -3, -5, from boars harbor conserved motifs within the Ca2+ binding loop catalytic center PLA1 motif. Intra-species recombination among strains was also Genetic characterization revealed that may be similar to virulent PPV strains.

Studies on genetic properties of porcine parvoviruses
In the last years, it has been shown that some parvoviruses exhibit high substitution rates, close to those of RNA viruses. In order to monitor and determine new mutations of the porcine parvovirus (PPV), recent PPV field isolates from Austria, Brazil, Germany and Switzerland were sequenced and analyzed. These samples, together with sequences retrieved from GenBank, were included in three datas...
متن کاملPorcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome in Hybrid Wild Boars, China
We conducted a serologic investigation of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) in hybrid wild boar herds in China during 2008-2009. PRRSV isolates with novel genetic markers were recovered. Experimental infection of pigs indicated that hybrid wild boars are involved in the epidemiology of PRRSV.

Serum samples from 1,011 wild boars hunted in 2012 were collected for serological surveillance for 4 subtypes (pandemic A (H1N1) 2009 and classical H1N1, H1N2 and H3N2) of swine influenza virus (SIV). Samples from 12 of the boars were identified as positive for SIV (pandemic A (H1N1) 2009, n=9; classical H1N1, n=2; and H1N2, n=1) by a hemagglutination inhibition test (HI test) and a nucleoprote...
متن کاملAntigenic and genetic analysis of canine parvoviruses in southern Africa.
Canine parvovirus (CPV) is a significant pathogen of domestic and free-ranging carnivores all over the world. It suddenly appeared at the end of the 1970s and most likely emerged as a variant of the well known feline panleukopenia virus (FPV). During its adaptation to the new host, the domestic-dog, the virus has changed its antigenic profile twice giving rise to two new antigenic types, CPV-2a...
متن کاملSeroprevalence of porcine proliferative enteropathy among wild boars in the Republic of Korea
BACKGROUND The importance of the wild boar as a reservoir of Lawsonia intracellularis was assessed by investigating the seroprevalence of this pathogen among wild boars in the Republic of Korea. The extent of exposure to L. intracellularis among wild boars (Sus scrofa coreanus) was monitored by a country-wide serological survey using an immunoperoxidase monolayer assay. RESULTS In this study,...
